Nassau Presbyterian Church Deacon

I serve as a Deacon, Liturgist, Usher, Devotional Writer, Student Representative on the Youth Ministry Committee, and Camp Counselor at Nassau Presbyterian Church, where I’ve been honored to help strengthen and support my community. As the only student elected to the Deacon Class of 2026, I collaborate with pastors, staff, and over thirty fellow deacons to serve more than 1,000 members of our congregation. My work has ranged from writing devotionals published through the church, to ushering at services, serving communion, and helping organize children’s craft fairs and pastoral visits to nursing homes.

As a student representative on the Youth Ministry Committee, I act as a bridge between youth and adult leadership, helping to plan international trips, weekly youth groups, and youth-led services, while bringing feedback from over 110 students in grades 6–12. In addition, I’ve supervised 3 and 4 year olds as a camp counselor at Vacation Bible School and middle schoolers as a Lifeguard for Splash Camp.

Through these roles, I’ve come to understand community as both a place of faith and of service. My time at Nassau has taught me how to lead, collaborate, and give back with gratitude, and I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to grow alongside such a meaningful community.
